I love how you blended iconic landmarks like the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory with more off-the-beaten-path gems like the Topanga Canyon Overlook and The Getty Villa. Your personal reflections and the practical tips (especially on transportation and logistics) make this itinerary feel not only inspiring but also super useful. It’s clear you truly embraced the LA vibe — now I feel even more excited to plan my own trip! Thanks for sharing such an honest and well-rounded experience.

Comment on One Week in Dominican Republic Itinerary – No Resorts! by Vroom DO https://www.perfectdaysomewhere.com/one-week-in-dominican-republic-itinerary/#comment-1469 Wed, 11 Dec 2024 00:28:43 +0000 https://www.perfectdaysomewhere.com/?p=6425#comment-1469 I came across your blog by chance while looking for information about what people write about the Dominican Republic. As the owner of a car rental company, I was pleasantly surprised by how thoroughly you discussed potential issues related to renting cars. By the way, we also had an unpleasant experience trying to rent a car in Mexico City, but in Cancun, it was much easier.

Speaking of the Dominican Republic, the situation has improved somewhat lately—the police are not as corrupt as they used to be. However, I always recommend to our clients to take the ticket and not be afraid. Officers often try to deceive tourists by saying you won’t be allowed to leave the country without paying the fine. That’s not true.

I hope you’ll visit the Dominican Republic again! Your “no all-inclusive hotels” format is really cool, but believe me, you can also have a great time in Punta Cana outside of the resorts, and there are plenty of places to explore! We invite you to come back!

Actually, the locker in the bike shed you mentioned is much more expensive than when you went.

Thanks Julie! I unfortunately do not have the info anymore for this company as it’s been a couple years since I went! And yes, Johnny was the real MVP of this tour! There are a ton of operators doing the same route so you’ll likely see all the same spots.
